Producers are encouraged to sign up for Direct Deposit to minimize any payment delays due to a labour disruption at Canada Post. Please complete and submit the Direct Deposit Payment Request Form. SCIC provides the option of direct deposit for payments from the Crop Insurance and AgriStability Programs. Once this form is received the producer’s account information will be updated and they will begin using direct deposit for program payments.
Submitting Program information
CropConnect is available as an online option for customers needing to complete their Crop Insurance business. It is important to submit a production declaration as soon as a producer has completed harvest. This helps SCIC staff process claims. Filing production declarations and registering a claim can be completed online through CropConnect.
Producers may want to consider using AgConnect for their AgriStability business. Participants have until December 31 to submit their 2017 AgriStability Program forms (with penalty). December 31, 2018 is also the deadline for any AgriStability participant who have received an enrolment notice to paid their fee and ensure enrolment for 2018. Late penalty will apply.
Producers are encouraged to use the electronic banking option when purchasing a policy to avoid any mail disruptions. A producer’s Statement of Settlement, along with any indemnities paid will be coordinated through the SCIC WLPIP Program Advisor. Our Program Advisor will contact producers to arrange payment details and pick up of settlement statement.
If producers are noticing waterfowl or wildlife damage on their crop, SCIC reminds producers they do not have to be a Crop Insurance customer to receive compensation. It is important to notify SCIC as soon as damage is detected. During peak season, even when calling on weekends, phones messages left after regular business hours are monitored. A SCIC representative will respond and arrangements will be made to adjust the claim as soon as possible.
Receiving Program information
SCIC normally uses Canada Post for distributing program information, correspondence and payments to producers. In response to the increased restrictions on mail service, SCIC will work with producers to use other secure methods to transfer information, such as fax or email. SCIC will also use its network of 21 customer service offices across Saskatchewan to ensure producers have access to their program correspondence and material including claim and benefit cheques. SCIC can use courier services to deliver critical or time sensitive information to the customer service offices for pick-up.
