Waren Ames
Executive Director of AgriStability
Waren has been with the AgriStability unit of SCIC since July of 2014, as Manager of Policy, Program Development and Readiness. He moved to his current position in May of 2018.
Prior to joining SCIC, Waren was with Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada in Winnipeg, Manitoba, where he was involved with the AgriStability Program through various roles, including Manager; Workforce Orientation; and Learning and Development.
Waren was born in Swan River, Manitoba. His family lived in different northern areas of Manitoba, moving from Thompson to Lynn Lake, and then to The Pas. His family would always return to his grandparents’ mixed farm for the summers. In the early 1980s, his parents moved the family back to the farm permanently. Waren’s parents still live on his great-grandfather’s original homestead near Minitonas, Manitoba.
Waren, his wife and two daughters have now made Melville, Saskatchewan their home.
